3 cups unsifted all -purpose flour 4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup butter 3/4 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup light brown sugar,firmly packed 1egg 1teaspoon vanilla or orange extract 1 cup mashed bananas 1 package (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips 1cup chopped pecans or walnuts preheat oven to 350 degreed f. stir together flour,baking powder,salt,and baking soda;set aside. beat together butter and sugars. add egg and vanilla,beating well. bleand in bananas. add dry ingredients,blending well. stir in chocolate chips and nuts. drop by tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets, about 2 inches apart. bake for 12 to 14 minutes. cool on racks.
